4K / 24fps Video Recording
Due to the ability to create slow-motion footage with 24fps using new AI tools, we are going to start having everyone shoot in 4K 24fps. A few things to consider:
- 24fps in 4k
- Highest bitrate that you can comfortably fit onto your cards for the day.
- H.265 or HEVC codecs recommended if available as they will provide better quality at lower data rates. Sony calls this XAVC HS.
- 1/50 shutter speed. Do not go over 1/80 for any reason.
- 5. Prioritize bit rate over chroma sampling. I.e, 10 bit 4:20 is preferred over 8 bit 4:2:2.
You will need ND filters for outdoor sun. Please purchase them if you do not already own NDs.
