The most common questions, answered.

01

Can I choose my photographer & videographer?

Yes, you can use this link to search our team's availability, browse individual portfolio, and select your preferred lead photographer and videographer.

02

Who is on the Double Knot team?

Double Knot is a highly curated, invite-only collective. We seek only the best photo & video artists that align with our mission of authentic wedding media. Each shooter books only a limited number of weddings per year, and they all receive extensive training in our candid, artful style.

03

Who will edit my wedding media?

All our wedding media is edited by our in-house, full-time photo and video editing team. We can emulate any style, and love collaborating with couples to achieve a shared vision.

04

Where are you located?

Our team lives in Central Texas and NYC, with some members traveling between both areas. We've also captured weddings in 12 states and 6 countries, so don't hesitate to reach out with your destination wedding.

05

What equipment will you bring?

We spend thousands of dollars every year updating our cameras, lenses, and support equipment. We bring everything we need to ensure pristine images, clear audio, and smooth camera movement.

06

What about emergencies?

After eight years and over 400 weddings, we have never missed, arrived late, or short-staffed a wedding. Our team is flexible and, given our deep bench and industry connections, we will always have a backup if one of our shooters is ill or otherwise unable to make your day.

07

Do you charge for travel?

For weddings within 30 miles of Austin and San Antonio, or within the five boroughs of NYC, there is no travel fee. For weddings between 30-90 miles away, a small travel fee may include nominal costs for gas, tolls, mileage, lodging, etc.

Weddings farther than 90 miles from our main metros (Austin, San Antonio, and NYC) will require a custom travel fee. Please inquire for more info.

08

How do you ensure no media is lost?

We back up our media to two different physical locations and a cloud service that promises 100% data reliability. We also only shoot on cameras that can record to two media cards at once. Paranoid? Maybe a little.

09

Who owns the copyright?

Copyright will be owned jointly by the client and Double Knot Pictures. You may request that we do not use your media in our marketing.

10

When will I get my photos?

We will deliver all media within 30 days of your wedding via online galleries and streaming videos. All media will be able to be downloaded in full resolution without watermarks or rights restrictions.

11

What is your cancellation and reschedule policy?

50% of the total price is considered a non-refundable retainer. At a minimum, all parties agree that retainer fee fairly compensates Double Knot Pictures for committing to provide the Services and turning down other potential projects/clients.

If the client cancels the event without rescheduling, any monies paid in excess of 50% of the total price will be fully refundable. If the client wishes to reschedule the date, any monies paid can be applied to the new date and no penalty or surcharge will be applied. New team members may have to be substituted when the date is rescheduled due to availability conflicts.

12

How do I book?

You can start by searching our team's availability. Or, you can simply schedule a consult to meet with our studio manager and receive your bookable quote.

13

Can you shoot on film?

Though it's not on our typical packages, we do have photographers in each market who can shoot on both digital and film.

For video, we find that proper film emulation is now indistinguishable from video. So, we can make your digital video appear as if it was captured in Super 8mm, 16mm, or 35mm.
